From the referendum law to the reduction in the number of MPs, Journalist Poli Hoxha 'deconstructs' Rama's movements

Journalist Poli Hoxha commented on News24 on the latest political developments and the movements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing them as part of a clear strategy for major changes in the political scene.
According to Hoxha, the prime minister has intensified political and organizational activities, despite the fact that the elections are still about a year away.
"On Saturday there is another meeting with the parliamentary group. Every day there is an activity for the reorganization of the party. The question is why is Edi Rama doing this reorganization, when the elections are in a year?", he said. Hoxha emphasizes that in parallel with this "early campaign", Rama has thrown the issue of constitutional changes into the political market, including the reduction of the number of deputies.
According to him, this shows that the majority is preparing for concrete interventions in the Constitution, which can also be realized with political consensus. "The moment they try to change the Constitution, this can also be done with the votes of the Democratic Party. The idea for 100 deputies was put forward by the DP in 2017, but then it was rejected," said Hoxha.
He adds that such a change would have a direct impact on the political system in the country, especially for small parties. In his analysis, Hoxha also connects the issue of the referendum with this strategy, suggesting that it can be used as a political instrument.
Poli Hoxha: On Saturday there is another meeting with the parliamentary group. Every day there is an activity, for the reorganization of the party. Why is Edi Rama doing this reorganization, when the elections are in 1 year?! In parallel with this campaign that he is doing, he has thrown the issue of changing the constitution into the political market, as is the reduction in the number of deputies. This means that he is preparing for this. At the moment when they will try to change the constitution, he could do it with the votes of the DP. No. 100 has been thrown out by the DP as an idea since 2017. Then they rejected it. When they get the egg… they think about it. The political effect in Albania will be the elimination of small parties. I don't think it's the issue of 100 or the Senate. By introducing constitutional changes, the issue of the referendum, the goal is to do that knowing that there is a barrier in justice, with the red line, he will sell this as if the people demand it. This seems to be the plan and this offensive is as if it is in the campaign.
