Ervin Salianji: Berisha has his contributions, but now he is an obstacle to the rotation
Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji, invited to the "Studio24" show, commented on developments in the opposition and the recent protest organized by the DP, saying that it brought nothing new in content and political impact.
"In terms of content, this protest did not bring anything new. As a reaction to corruption, criminalization, etc., the scandals of the former deputy prime minister, the AKSHI, etc., it is necessary. The expectations raised by the leadership, by Mr. Berisha as president, are such that they diminish its value," said Salianji.
He also criticized the political language used before and after the protest, saying it damages the opposition's credibility.
"Whatever the expectations from the language before the protest when they say it's the last kilometer etc., the language after the protest is also a political language that damages the credibility of the opposition. It cannot be said after that protest that 'the regime was terrified' etc. We need to find another way of communicating and that is why I have come out in this movement demanding a change in political language as well", he said.
Salianji added that the current leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, according to him, has become an obstacle to change and political rotation.
"Berisha has his contributions, but now he is insufficient, even an obstacle to bringing about the rotation. These protests are now resistance to not changing the DP," he declared.
