What is happening in Tirana? Suspicious persons attempt to kidnap children, institutions show no reaction

Another disturbing denunciation was published this Monday, raising the alarm for the safety of children in the suburban areas of Tirana.

A citizen told JOQ that in several villages in the capital, suspicious people (foreign women wearing headscarves) have been seen approaching children and trying to convince them to go with them.

The complainant indicates that these cases have been repeated for several days, while two children aged 10-12 managed to run away after being approached by people who initially spoke to them in a foreign language and then in English.

According to her, the situation has become alarming, as these individuals are acting openly, even near school premises, causing fear and insecurity among children and parents. She adds that the police have been notified, but so far there is no information for the public and no concrete results.

This denunciation follows several previous reports published by JOQ Albania, where various citizens have raised concerns about women in headscarves approaching children in different areas of Tirana.

In one case, a mother reported that several women attempted to lure their children to a van by engaging them in simple conversations in English. In another case, it was alleged that these individuals avoided identification by covering their faces when they felt they were being watched.

Meanwhile, another incident reported near the "Katundi i Ri" school indicated that these individuals would stay near the school premises and leave immediately as soon as they noticed the presence of teachers.

So far, there has been no official reaction from the relevant institutions to clarify the situation, what is really happening, and who these people are.

In the absence of transparency, fear among parents is growing day by day, while there are also reports of traumatized children who are unsure about going to school or going out alone.
