Immediately after Sali Berisha's statements from the DP Presidency meeting, Ervin Salianji reacted, emphasizing that the opposition cannot fall into the trap of unilateral changes to the party's Constitution nor attack internationals. Salianji emphasizes that there is no greater service to Rama than to act like him.
"The opposition cannot fall into the same trap of changing the rules and attacking internationals! The Democratic Party cannot pave the way for unilateral changes to the party's Constitution and Statute. Article 46 is clear and sanctioned. There is no greater service to Edi Rama than to behave and act like him. Rama is under international pressure for evading the law, for violating equality before the law and for attempting to change the rules for suspending ministers and the Prime Minister," writes Salianji on the "X" platform.
"Any action that imitates Rama's model is not a solution, but usurpation. And any such usurpation makes its authors responsible before the opposition and before society. Today we are seeing the same logic that we have denounced in the government: usurpation of rules, destruction of branches, exclusion of Democrats, as if the Democratic Party were the private property of a few individuals and not a party built on the will of Democrats. If the opposition starts behaving like the government it denounces, then it harms not only itself, but also the citizens' trust in the alternative. Because in the end, the question arises that no one will listen to, but that many citizens are already asking: is the game the same and the parties closer than they seem?", he continues.
