Billy Bob Thornton has finally cleared up the story of a pivotal moment in his relationship with Angelina Jolie. Thornton, 70, provided new details on the famous claim that he and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie carried bottles of each other's blood.
" We each had a little locket, literally with a drop of blood in it," the Landman star said in a new interview with Rolling Stone. "It's a little romantic idea, and that's all it was. But when it's over, we're vampires. We live in an underground prison, we drink each other's blood and stuff like that."
"A bottle of blood is very simple. Angie came home one day with a bag she bought," he said, according to E! News . "You know those lockets you buy that are transparent and you put a picture of your grandmother inside or something and you wear it around your neck? That's what it was."
Despite the strong public view of the relationship, Thornton maintained that they parted on good terms.
" And of course, Angelina [Jolie] and I had a great time together. It was one of the best times of my life ," he told the magazine. "She and I are still very, very close friends. And that's what ended up being a really civilized breakup. We just broke up because our lifestyles were so different ."
