SAD/ The actor known for his roles in "Batman" and "Person of Interest" passes away

British actor John Nolan, known for his roles in the films "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises," as well as the series "Person of Interest," has died at the age of 87.
The news was announced on Saturday, April 11, according to the Stratford-Upon-Avon Herald. Nolan, born in London on May 22, 1938, was a well-known figure in British theatre and television. Early in his career, he toured Ireland and studied acting at the Drama Centre in London. One of his most notable early roles was as Romeo in the play, opposite Francesca Annis, at the Richmond Theatre.
He then joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he performed in works such as "Julius Caesar" and "The Merry Wives of Windsor", and later worked with the National Theatre under the direction of Trevor Nunn.
He first came to television fame in 1970 with the BBC miniseries "Daniel Deronda," in which he played the lead role. He then appeared in popular series such as "Doomwatch," "The Prisoner," "The Sweeney," "Return of the Saint," and "Silent Witness."
In film, Nolan also collaborated with his nephew, the famous director Christopher Nolan, participating in “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight Rises”, where he played the role of Douglas Fredericks, a member of the board of Wayne Enterprises. He also appeared in the films “Following” and “Dunkirk”.
On television, one of his most famous roles was that of John Greer in the series “Person of Interest,” created by his other nephew, Jonathan Nolan. His character appeared from the second season and became an important part of the series until its conclusion, participating in 28 episodes.
John Nolan was also active in theater throughout his career, performing in various classical and modern works, including adaptations of Dostoevsky and plays by Tennessee Williams.
He was the younger brother of Brendan Nolan, father of Christopher and Jonathan Nolan. Nolan is survived by his wife, actress Kim Hartman, whom he married in 1975, their two children, Miranda and Tom, as well as grandchildren.
