On September 15, 1912, the first Albanian scientist was born, here is who she is

Sabiha Kasimati is the first Albanian scientist who was born on September 15, 1912 in Edirne (Adrianopoja), Turkey in a libohovite intellectual family. When her family returned to her homeland, Kasimati continued her studies at the French Lyceum of Korça, as the first female to attend this school. Afterwards, she worked as a teacher at the Female Normal School of Korça, at the American School of Kavaja, at the "Nana Mbretneşe" Institute, as well as at the Lyceum of Korça.

In 1936, he was awarded a state scholarship for studies in Italy, at the Faculty of Biological Sciences, at the University of Turin, where he distinguished himself for his excellent results. On February 18, 1943, the Royal Institute of Albanian Studies decided to create a science museum next to it, and Sabihaja was commissioned for this. Even during the first years of communism, she continued scientific research alongside prominent figures, such as: Çabej, Buda, Gjergj Komnino, Gjergj Ashta, etc.

The explosion in the courtyard of the Soviet embassy on February 19, 1951, was considered a "terrorist act" by the regime, which used it as a pretext for the arrest of 22 intellectuals who were to be shot on the nights of February 26 and 27. Among them was the only girl, Sabiha Kasimati. Although declared an "enemy of the people", her scientific work would be appropriated and published in 1955, under the name of the Soviet scientist Anatoli Polyjakoa and the two Albanian researchers.
