The company "Check Taxi" with an address on Dibra Street in Tirana, has been seized by the Special Prosecution Office. It turns out that it is 100% owned by citizen Franc Canaj, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking networks with the brothers Hajdar and Franc Çopja.
Also, by order of SPAK, 25 electric vehicles owned by this company, which operated taxi services in Tirana and several cities in the country, as well as trips from Tirana to Kosovo or Montenegro, were seized.
"On behalf of citizen Franc Canaj: 100% share of the trading company 'Check Company Sh.pk, on Dibra Street, Tirana. There are a total of 24 Volkswagen vehicles (model Ioniq5 and ID3, ID4) and 1 Toyota (model bZ3) owned by this company," the announcement states.
According to SPAK, within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 187 of 2023, a parallel property investigation was conducted. This investigation identified assets that constitute the products of criminal activity on behalf of the subjects under investigation and their family members.
"With decision no. 667, dated 14.10.2026, the Special Court of First Instance determined the measure of property insurance "preventive sequestration" on movable and immovable property in the name of citizens Albin Çela and Franc Canaj, with a total value of 77,000,000 lek", SPAK announces.
The Special Prosecution Office says that Albin Çela is being investigated in connection with the criminal organization of the Çopja brothers, while Franc Canaj, as the owner of "Check Taxi", is an indirect connection to the brothers Albin and Ervis Çela.
