Activist Sazan Guri was one of the injured in yesterday's protest and was also defended by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, for the violence inflicted on him. But this morning, Guri, following the developments of yesterday evening, where the protest escalated into clashes between police and protesters, has reacted by demanding Mr. Berisha's resignation from his post, to pave the way for the resurgence of the Albanian opposition.

"He had such an opportunity, to show how it is not too late, how Albania has not gone to war, that it has been brought to the brink, even if only for historical documentation that knowledgeable people do not sleep, but think about this country; that wise people do not do tricks, but give opinions, all the more so when, in the end, you have accepted like men two cases of resignation", is the request of Sazan Guri, posting the open letter of the academy "Our Roots". "Be a man for the third time, give that resignation for the sake of the students who do not like you both, but also for our sake that you come to us with different words, but with the same agendas. We as responsible citizens, as people who think about this country, do not eat these meatballs, so Mr. Berisha, you will leave someday, so that you do not leave like your namesake in power, without great damage to the country", writes Sazan Guri.

During the violent clashes yesterday evening, Sazan Guri was injured after being shot with a rubber bullet by police forces. After this incident, Sali Berisha reacted strongly publicly, calling on the prosecution to investigate the police for the violence against protesters and activists, demanding that the officers be brought to justice.
