Austrian public television: Flamingo Revolution does not stop, thousands of people on the streets for almost 3 months
International media continue to echo the Flamingo Revolution in Albania.
Austrian public broadcaster ORF reports that Albania is experiencing a Flamingo Revolution.
"For three months now, thousands of people have been taking to the streets every day. Their goal is bigger than protecting a flamingo breeding area," reports the well-known Austrian media outlet.
Below is the Austrian journalist's report from Tirana:
"This is what the streets of Tirana have looked like every evening since the end of May.
The cause of these mass protests were plans for two luxury resorts in the Zvërnec protected natural area in the Vjosa River delta and on the island of Sazan.
A 2024 legal change for strategic investments has paved the way for these construction projects in the protected area.
In the same year, Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, published his plans for Albania.
The more these plans took shape, the angrier the population became.
For them, the project represents the wrong policies in the country.
Even the European Union, which wants to see Albania in the EU in 2030, is closely watching the project.
But even if the project, which Prime Minister Edi Rama strongly defends, is canceled, the problems in the country are still far from being solved.
The demand for reforms is tangible and people do not tire of continuing to take to the streets for them."

The power of vanity! The protest broke the "magic" of Rama and Berisha
