A serious incident has been referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings have been initiated against a doctor at the Durrës Regional Hospital, following allegations of medical negligence that allegedly led to the loss of a baby's life.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen I. Sh., 43 years old, resident of Durrës, with the duty of a doctor at the Durrës Regional Hospital, after citizen AB reported that on 19.02.2026, she gave birth to her baby in the maternity ward of this hospital and claims that due to the doctor's negligence, the baby lost its life after a few hours.", the police announced.
