The Supreme Court overturns the conviction of Emiljano Shullazi and his group, upholding the 55-year prison sentence for the 5 defendants

The Supreme Court has upheld the 2021 appeal decision of the Criminal Court of Kosovo (GJKKO) for Emiljano Shullazi and his group accused of extortion within the framework of a criminal group.
Judges Ilir Panda, Genti Shala and Enton Dhimitri in the deliberation room upheld the sentence of 55 years in prison in total for the 5 defendants.
In the final decision 5 years ago, Emiljano Shullazi was sentenced to 14 years in prison, Endrit Qyqja and Endrit Zela to 10 years in prison each, and Blerim Shullazi to 9 years in prison.
For Gilmando Dani, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison, the high court ruled not to accept the appeal after he died.
Dani, like all the other defendants except Emiljano Shullazi, was released and then executed in a mafia assassination in November 2025 at the Rinas roundabout along with his friend, AMP agent Mustafa Sheqeri.
Meanwhile, Emiljano Shullazi is being held in custody for two other SPAK files, the 'nothing is forgotten' operation related to the 2005 murders of Vajdin Lame and Klodian Saliu, and the 'revenge' operation, where a 10-year prison sentence with a summary trial has been requested for him for providing conditions to commit murder and a criminal group.
