Investigations/ Businessman Gent Sula took over Ajola's 115 thousand euros:

Gentian Sula is one of the businessmen for whom the GJKKO has issued a security measure requiring him to appear on charges of active corruption for his connections with Erion Veliaj and Ajola Xoxa.

CNA has revealed other very interesting and important details for the investigation from the Veliaj-Xoxa file revealed by the Court.

According to the data, Gentian Sula has stated before the prosecutors that regarding the amount of 115,000 euros found in the premises of the company Partners Law Shpk, citizen Gentian Sula states that this amount was given as a down payment to citizen Ajola Xoxa. He explains that the banknotes were mainly euros (specifically 500 euro denominations), but also included dollars. He has kept the monetary amounts at home, withdrawn from the bank over the years.

“Regarding the amount of 115,000 euros found on the premises of Partners Law Shpk, citizen Gentian Sula states that this amount was given as a down payment to citizen Ajola Xoxa. He explains that the banknotes were mainly euros (specifically 500 euro denominations), but also included dollars. He kept the monetary amounts at home, withdrawn from the bank over the years and from the foreign exchange near the “Flamuri” point at Libri Universitari. He claims that he had been keeping these amounts for more than two years. As for the banks where he deposited or withdrew money, citizen Sula mentions Credins Bank, OTP Bank, and Intesa San Paolo Bank, the latter’s account no longer active.

When presented with a document (a receipt used to link the money) with the Union Bank stamp on it, the declarant denied the connection to this document, explaining that he had not made any withdrawals at this bank. Regarding the question of whether there were any cases of currency exchanges with receipts, he confirms that this may have been the case.

Citizen Gentian Sula explains that during the handover of the monetary amount on December 4, he was alone in the meeting with citizen Ajola Xoxa and therefore there was no third person present. He explains that he had planned to formalize the process with a notary, but due to a planned trip abroad, he did not have time to do so.

Regarding the rush to hand over the amount, he states that this was due to the plan of citizen Ajola Xoxa to buy offices and move to other premises. The monetary amounts, placed in a bag, were delivered to her office. He also clarifies that she has not made any other cash purchases of significant value.

"With regard to the down payment contract between him and citizen Xoxa, in which the amount of 220,000 euros was determined, citizen Gentian Sula explains that the contract was conditioned by the revaluation process, for which they were waiting for the issuance of a relevant law. He states that the situation did not favor the continuation of the relationship and that he recently asked citizen Ajola Xoxa to revoke the contract," the investigative file states.

But, according to the proceeding body after the statements of Gentian Sula, it is stated that in relation to the provision of money for down payment purposes, with a private act (non-notarial) drawn up only one day before the decision of the Special Court of First Instance for the inspection of the premises, presented to this court during the hearing for the lifting of the seizure, it is found that taking into account the denomination of euro banknotes (500 denomination) and their mixing with different banknotes, such as USD etc., as well as taking into account the relationship between these citizens, reasonable doubts arise based on evidence that they (the money) do not belong to the value of any sales contract, but have been in the possession of citizen Ajola Xoxa some time ago.

Here, the fact that Ajola Xoxa, at the first moment of the search, told investigators that the sums of money came from her father's inheritance must also be taken into consideration.

Gentian Sula has claimed before SPAK that he has benefited from public funds from the Municipality of Tirana.

We emphasize that Gentian Sula has received funds from the Municipality of Tirana for the company "Noa Control" several times, and SPAK confirms this, providing details of the amounts that Gentian Sula has received with the signature of Mayor Veliaj.

Gentian Sula is the businessman who CNA reported gave the villa to Ajola Xoxa, where normally she would have to pay 25 thousand euros per month for the building in the middle of the block.

But Ajola Xoxa got it for free, as her husband Erion Veliaj made sure to give tenders to Gentian Sula in return.

Gentian Sula is also the businessman who traveled to the US to negotiate possible meetings with Veliaj near the Trump administration, but these ended up as tourist excursions.

SPAK has the facts and other evidence about the Veliaj-Sulaj connections in its hands, and some of them are detailed above./ CNA
