Agreement enters into force, free border movement between Albania and Kosovo again

The agreement on free border movement between Kosovo and Albania entered into force again this Friday.
This agreement will be active until October, and is expected to be renewed in December and January, as well as during weekends.
It provides for the avoidance of vehicles queuing at the border, as well as the facilitation of procedures, where crossing is done without detailed checks of ID cards or passports, except in suspicious cases.
Its implementation has avoided long waits at the border.
According to official data, this morning alone, around 15,000 citizens have entered the territory of Albania, most of whom come from Kosovo.
The accelerated movement has put into operation 11 counters at the Morina border crossing, enabling the unhindered implementation of the agreement.
Sources near this border point indicate that over the last 24 hours, around 37 thousand citizens have crossed, of which 25 thousand have entered Albanian territory.
