Former President Ilir Meta, in an interview for the Opinion show on TV Klan, from his cell, was asked if he coordinated his actions with Monika Kryemadhi, since they are co-defendants.
Meta stated that the final political separation with Ms. Kryemadhi occurred when she made a decision to burn the SMI mandates in February 2019.
"This political division became final between November 21, 2023 and April 27, 2024 when the National Convention of the Freedom Party took place. The burning of the LSI mandates really put me in a corner as I remained President, alone, facing an Assembly with 122 mandates that could dismiss me at any minute," Meta said.
QUESTION : Do you agree with your trial with Ms. Kryemadhi, who is accused with you?
ANSWER: Our real political division began with its unilateral decision to burn the mandates of the SMI in February 2019.
This political division became final between November 21, 2023 and April 27, 2024 when the National Convention of the Freedom Party was held. The burning of the LSI mandates really put me in a corner as I remained President, alone, facing an Assembly with 122 mandates that could dismiss me at any minute.
Add to this situation the structured diplomatic group of that time. But on the day I laid my hands on the Constitution as President, I swore that I would not only defend the Constitution at any cost and under any circumstances, but also that I would complete my mandate until the last day, as it happened.
Now, to answer you without any equivocation. There is no reconciliation between me and Mrs. Kryemadhi, neither about the judicial process nor about anything else.
Likewise, our legal responsibilities are very separate even though prosecutors want to unite us in this process in a very forced manner, because criminal responsibility is individual.
Regarding the CEZ-DIA issue, Ms. Kryemadhi has no connection.
Regarding the lobbying for McKeon Group, it has no connection, as it is an issue in which only I was involved at the kind request of Vangjel Tavo at the time.
The American authorities themselves dismantled the $1 million slander published by Mother Jones and Austria, etc. It has been proven that there was only one legitimate payment of $15,000, and this was through the bank and by decision of the SMI Presidency.
Regarding the LSI – GSIS agreement, it is very precise and I do not have any signature or authorization for payments. However, I take all legal responsibility for this agreement until April 2017 when I resigned as Chairman of LSI after being elected as President of the Republic, according to the obligations of the LSI statute.
Only political prosecutors can request data from American authorities about this agreement with the SMI, for Ilir Meta, as its Chairman until 2018 (!!!).
Likewise, only political prosecutors can officially lie to the American justice authorities, such as the letter of 11 March 2025, that they had allegedly proven that the defendant Ilir Meta used 3 American cards (!!!).
If they prove during the trial that I have ever used an Albanian card and not an American or African one, I will leave politics and public life forever.
So in the 220-page indictment, there are only 30 pages about CEZ-DIA full of lies and nothing else about me.
The special entity for declaring expenses or assets bears criminal liability only for what they declare themselves and not the person related to them, who bears personal responsibility for what they declare.
There are no undeclared expenses by me.
Ms. Kryemadhi and her mother had a lot of legitimate income and real estate that is public.
I have never interfered with their accounts and interests, much less those of their cousins and cousins.
However, they have their own lawyers.
Likewise, nowhere in the indictment after the CEZ-DIA case, there is no action, e-mail, or text message of mine for all the episodes involved.
Just a "broken phone".
Of course, there is also the unrealized dream of creating criminal evidence, here through extreme isolation and ordinary provocations.
