Professor Lush Susaj has reacted after the investigations of the Special Prosecution Office, which issued 24 security measures for professors and staff of the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT) for tender abuses.
Invited to the News24 studio, Susaj said that for years he has denounced problems at the university, but for this he has faced retaliation and exclusion from job opportunities.
"I have been speaking for 25 years and they haven't even given me a chair to sit on. Who am I to go to the rector and tell him to give me a chair? He knows, I asked for it 5 years ago together with my office colleague," he said, implying that his penalization came as a result of previous denunciations of violations within the institution.
Susaj emphasized that there are many honest professors at the university and that a generalization should not be made about all academic staff. “There are wonderful people at the university and I will protect them, just as I protect the rector, until justice is served,” he said.
