"You got a speeding ticket!"/ New SMS scam in the name of e-Albania

Another phone fraud scheme is circulating in the country. The State Police has raised the alarm about SMS messages being sent to citizens on behalf of the e-Albania platform, falsely informing them of alleged payments of vehicle fines.

According to the official announcement, this scheme is similar to the previous case on behalf of the Albanian Post, for which a report was also filed with the Cyber Crime Investigation structures.

Authorities report that the messages contain fake links, which aim to deceive citizens and steal their personal and banking information.

In this context, the Police appeal to citizens not to click on links sent via SMS from unknown numbers, not to provide personal or banking information on unconfirmed pages, and not to act under the pressure of messages that create urgency.
