"You have ruined my life for these 15 years"/ He killed his ex-wife,

A macabre crime has occurred in the province of Asti near Turin in Italy, where a 59-year-old Albanian man killed his ex-wife, her new partner and finally himself by jumping off a castle tower.

The suspect in the murder was named Astrit Koni, while the woman was Drita Koni (Meçollari). Both had lived in Italy for 20 years.

"You have ruined my life for these 15 years, but now everything is over." This was the last message that Astrit Koni wrote before ending his life by jumping from the tower of Castello di Cossombrato, a small village with about 500 inhabitants in the province of Asti.

Shortly before, he had opened the castle gate with the keys he used for his work as a gardener and, after reaching the top floor, jumped out of a window in front of witnesses. It was 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

No one expected that the suicide of a man who seemed calm and hardworking would hide such a grave tragedy. Only 24 hours later was the truth revealed, after the disappearance report was made by the brother of his ex-wife, Drita Meçollari, 55 years old.

He had called for help, saying: “My sister hasn’t come home for two days.” Police then searched the places she usually went, until she and her new partner, Bardhok Gega, were found dead in a canal near the beehives they were fixing.

According to preliminary investigations, the 59-year-old had a 20-year relationship with the victim and had tried several times to get back together with her, but she had refused and started a new relationship. Driven by jealousy, he is suspected of attacking and killing her with a cutting instrument, along with her new partner.
