Orthodox Easter brings emigrants back to their homeland, high influx at

The Easter holiday has brought a high flow of movement over the last 24 hours at the Qafë Bota border crossing and the Port of Saranda.

According to data from the Saranda Border Police, around 7,200 people have crossed into and out of both border points with Greece.

Thousands of Albanian and foreign citizens, as well as hundreds of vehicles, have passed through Qafë Botë, while movements have been balanced both inbound and outbound.

Meanwhile, at the Port of Saranda, the flow was managed through three ferries that operated throughout the day.

Authorities indicate that work at the border has been carried out with additional counters, both on the Albanian and Greek sides, to cope with the significant increase in movements during the holidays.
