Fire in the Gërmenj Natural Park / There are no new fires, but the burned area has expanded

According to the most updated information, the fire situation in the Germenj Natural Park appears calmer today, with no new outbreaks, although the affected area has expanded.

Around 65 forces from the Kolonja fire department, the Regional Directorate of Protected Areas, border police, the forestry service and volunteers, supported by army forces from the Drenova department, have been deployed on the ground.

This intervention is necessary after the spread of the fire yesterday penetrated the protected forest area and the risk remains high.

According to forecasts, the efforts of forces on the ground are expected to stabilize the situation during the day, while possible rainfall, predicted for today or tomorrow, may help control the fire.
