Suspicions about China's involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war! Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he suspects China is involved in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Two Chinese citizens were captured during fighting in eastern Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky said today.

Ukrainian forces fought with six Chinese soldiers, with two of them being taken hostage, he added.

As a result, Zelensky has ordered officials to obtain an explanation from Beijing.

Zelensky made these statements at a joint press conference with Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever, emphasizing the need for immediate international mobilization and a reassessment of the situation by Ukraine's Western partners.

“The battles were recorded in the Donetsk region, in two areas. Ukrainian soldiers clashed with six Chinese soldiers and captured two of them. We have passports, documents, even credit cards in our hands. They are Chinese citizens. I think this is an element of great importance ,” the Ukrainian president said.

Zelensky stressed that China's apparent involvement in the war on behalf of Russia, alongside countries like North Korea and Iran, constitutes a new geopolitical fact, which should push Ukraine's allies to reconsider their stance and support.

“The North Koreans were fighting us in Kursk. Now, the Chinese are fighting on Ukrainian soil. And this is something that needs to be urgently discussed with our partners. We are a strong country, but we cannot fight with many countries at the same time, all with targets in Ukraine ,” he noted.

The Ukrainian president expressed hope that this development will lead to more active involvement of the United States in talks with Kiev, while demanding an official response from Beijing.

"I have instructed the foreign and defense ministers to contact their Chinese counterparts, demanding an official explanation for these actions ," Zelensky said.
