Croatia bans the use of phones in primary and secondary schools

The Croatian government has passed a new law banning the use of mobile phones and other communication devices in primary and secondary schools.

Education Minister Radovan Fuchs explained that the changes aim to regulate student behavior, improve safety and order in schools, and guarantee the effective delivery of education.

Students may bring phones to school, but using them during the school day is considered unacceptable behavior.

Devices must be kept in bags or lockers, with exceptions only possible for educational, health or other purposes approved by the school.
