"Welcome!"/ How Mossad is recruiting Iranian informants against the

Amid the war with Iran, Mossad is increasing its efforts on social media to recruit people against the regime.

A Mossad channel, Israel's foreign intelligence service, has been discreetly open since late December.

A link to this channel appears on the official Mossad website, thus confirming its authenticity, along with other links to recruitment accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

"Mossad official"

The Persian-language Telegram account was opened on December 24, four days before the mass protests in Iran that ended in violent clashes.

A message at the top of the page says: 'Welcome! If you've reached this far, it's probably because you want to contact us.'

The message is accompanied by detailed instructions on how to contact the Institute.

On March 6, the channel, which has gained 48,000 subscribers to date, published a message encouraging Iranians to broadcast information from inside their country: “Continue sending your reports from the ground. You are the witnesses of the truth. We will continue until victory!”

"Mossad has specialized in this type of operations for decades, depending on the tools and technologies available," explains Yossi Melman, an Israeli journalist and defense and intelligence expert.
