Russian President Vladimir Putin has reappeared in one of his so-called "twin offices" after a record 161-day absence, fueling speculation about efforts to conceal his whereabouts.

The return to the so-called “beige office” took place today, on the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea. This office is located in the suburban residence of Novo-Ogaryovo, but according to reports, identical copies of it also exist in Sochi and Valdai, enabling the Kremlin to mask the president’s real location.

The last time Putin was seen in such an environment was on October 7, 2025, his birthday, when he held a video conference with members of the Security Council. In March 2026, he used this office again for a meeting with the Russian government.

The use of these identical environments is seen by analysts as a security and disinformation strategy, at a time when international tensions and concerns about the safety of leaders are on the rise.
