There is no peace in Iran, Trump: We will continue until all the leaders are

US President Donald Trump said he is not interested in negotiating with Iran and raised the possibility that war with Iran will only end when Tehran no longer has a functioning military or any leadership left in power.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said the air campaign could make negotiations a moot point if all of Iran's potential leaders are killed and the Iranian military is destroyed.

"At some point, I don't think there's going to be anyone left to say, 'We surrender,'" Trump said.

Israel said it had launched new strikes across Iran on Sunday, and a huge fire engulfed a government office block in Kuwait hit by a drone, as a war that has brought chaos to the Middle East and roiled global oil markets entered its second week. Trump has justified the attack by saying Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States, without providing evidence, and was getting very close to building a nuclear weapon.

The US and Israel have discussed sending special forces to Iran to secure its enriched uranium stockpiles at a later stage of the war, Axios reported, citing four people with knowledge of the discussions.

For his part, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian apologized to neighboring states for his attacks on American facilities in those countries, in an attempt to calm anger across the Gulf, but drew criticism from hardliners in the country.

"I personally apologize to the neighboring countries that were affected by Iran's actions," Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, urging them not to join the US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

He dismissed Trump's demand for the Islamic Republic's unconditional surrender as "a pipe dream," but said its interim leadership council had agreed to suspend attacks on neighboring states unless attacks on Iran were launched from their territory.

Pezeshkian's comments caused a political uproar in Iran, prompting his office to reiterate that Iran's military would respond decisively to attacks from US bases. Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said on state television that there was no division among Iranian officials over the handling of the war.
