Abandoned palaces of African dictators that used to be filled with diamonds, artwork and caviar

Military guards still fanatically guard the luxurious palaces of some of the past African dictators, now abandoned and dilapidated for decades.
Once filled with diamonds, money and other objects of extreme luxury, many of them are no longer able to host dictators.
Crocodile bones and chests with diamonds were found in them after the overthrow of the dictators, who had built according to their own selfishness their places of relaxation.
Today they serve only as a reminder of the greed, corruption and brutality of selfish leaders who, like in Africa and in all countries of the world, spent the money earned by the people for their vanity and laziness, writes the British network The Sun.
One of them is undoubtedly the ruined palace of Kawele deep in the forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is now barely standing.
It belonged to the infamous dictator Mobutu Sese Seko who ruled when the country was called Zaire, making it his kingdom for 32 years until the late 90s.
Mobutu had his servants build two such palaces with Italian marble and antique French furniture, Venetian chandeliers and other artistic extravagances.
His cellars were stocked with rosé champagne and other elite wines, while around 1,000 uniformed staff members worked to keep the implants in perfect condition.
Despite personal and political exaggerations, there were world-renowned presidents and businessmen invited here, and even Pope John Paul II stayed there for a few days.
The former dictator was expelled from Zaire in 1997 and went to Morocco, by the forces of the rebel leader Laurent Désiré Kabila who formed the DR Congo there.
But the departure of Mobutu also brought the departure of business and money in this village, emptying it and turning it into an abandoned area, with unfinished projects and rotting machinery.
Another of these authoritarian leaders was Jean-Bédel Bokassa of the Central African Republic, who, in addition to giant villas, has built statues of himself, now engulfed by vegetation and destruction.
Bokassa had built for himself a castle with 52 rooms and a giant pool, which have now been abandoned due to the fall from power of the masters.
