Russia has introduced the Su-34 bomber. The so-called glide bomb carries inside it a quantity of fearsome FAB-3000 bombs. The FAB-3000 bomb is in use by the Russian Air Force.
This weapon has been transformed into a very precise and extremely powerful explosive device.
The range of these bombs depends on the throwing speed and altitude; the higher and faster, the more dangerous it is. This allows the Russians to drop bombs 37-43 miles away from the target, which is well beyond the range of Ukraine's short-range air defense systems.
The FAB-3000 has a large blast radius, capable of causing extensive damage to buildings, fortifications and infrastructure. This bomb can penetrate reinforced concrete and other fortified structures before detonating, making it effective against bunkers and underground facilities.
Upon detonation, the bomb case ruptures, becoming more lethal.
The explosion also generates a powerful shock wave that can cause structural collapse and significant damage to nearby facilities and individuals.
The FAB-3000 bomb is designed to be carried under the wings or fuselage of smaller aircraft, as well as in the compartments of larger bombers.
