Albanians stand against the corrupt Caste, Rama from Switzerland: There is no

While Albanians have risen in large protests against the corrupt political caste, (Rama and Berisha in prison), Edi Rama swears that he has no son where..ve, to find stolen money in his pocket. The Prime Minister has reacted after social networks circulated pictures of him from Basel, Switzerland, where he participated in an art activity "ArtBasel". So, Albanians have flocked to the squares of Albania and the world where they demand his resignation for the misgovernance of the country, while the Prime Minister finds time to make private trips, instead of listening to the citizens.

In addition, instead of providing transparency on travel costs, the head of government chose to respond to citizens with attacks and an expression he used decades ago, declaring that "there is no motherfucker or son of a whore" who would find money earned dishonestly in his pocket.

Through a post on social media, Rama claimed that the trip to Switzerland was not funded by the state, but was a private invitation from ArtBasel, where, according to him, his artworks were also exhibited.

"I shared a video where someone caught me drinking water in Basel, Switzerland at state expense. In almost three decades of public service, I have never traveled privately with state money and the same applies to my family," Rama writes.

The Prime Minister's statement comes at a time when the opposition has been demanding transparency about his travels, especially those on chartered planes, for years, even calling for the establishment of parliamentary investigative committees. These demands have been repeatedly rejected by the majority, while a full overview of travel expenses has not been made available to the public.

In his reaction, Rama emphasized that he and his wife had traveled and stayed in Switzerland "entirely at our own expense," while adding that during his 13 years as prime minister, his family has not taken a single vacation abroad.

Further, the head of government reiterated a statement he made about two decades ago, writing that it remains unchanged today.

"For about twenty years I have said that there is no son of a mother or son of a father who finds a penny in my pocket that was not earned through honest work. Today, two decades later, that sentence remains 100% untouchable in its content," Rama said.

The Prime Minister also attacked those who accuse him, claiming that whoever slanders or accuses without evidence has either done what he accuses of, or would do it if he were in his place. According to Rama, social networks have turned into a terrain where "the thorns of lies multiply at the speed of clicking", while the truth remains drowned out by slander.
