"Strait of Hormuz vital to global supplies"/ Vance: Trump may make

US Vice President JD Vance has said that President Donald Trump may decide to make public before June 19 the framework agreement to end the war with Iran, which was digitally signed on Monday.

This agreement is expected to be officially signed during a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on June 19.

Speaking to Fox News, Vance stressed that the agreement is entirely based on meeting conditions, making it clear that Iran will only have access to funds for the country's reconstruction if it fully complies with the terms of the agreement.

"The Iranians will not get a penny if they don't behave properly and if they don't change their behavior," Vance said.

Earlier, Vance told CNN that the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran is "about a page and a half" in length and described it as a "very general" document.

The framework agreement gives Washington and Tehran 60 days to negotiate a permanent agreement, including resolving disagreements over Iran's enriched uranium stockpile.

US officials said on Monday that the agreement could be released to the public within 24 to 48 hours.

Trump has emphasized that the core of the comprehensive peace agreement will be a guarantee that Iran will never develop nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open to the free flow of ships.

The strait, which is a vital route for global oil and gas supplies, has been virtually closed by Iran since the US and Israel launched attacks on the Islamic Republic on February 28.

Its closure shook energy markets and the global economy. The framework agreement between the US and Iran was welcomed by Western leaders, who said the Strait of Hormuz should be open to shipping without tariffs and that Tehran should never possess nuclear weapons.
