Powerful explosion at US embassy in Oslo

A powerful explosion was heard in an area near the US embassy in Oslo, Norway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of this Sunday morning, while police explain that Norwegian authorities are in contact with embassy staff.

Later, police announced that the explosion occurred at the entrance to the consular section and caused minor material damage.

The cause of the explosion is unknown, but authorities say there were no injuries. Police declined to provide further details as the investigation continues.

We recall that American embassies in the Middle East have been placed on high alert due to US-Israeli military operations against Iran and Tehran's retaliation.

But Norwegian police have so far not reported any indication that the explosion outside the US embassy in Oslo is related to the war in the Middle East.
