"We have no disputes with our neighbors!", Iranian president: We are obliged to respond to attacks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his recent comments about attacks on Gulf countries were “misinterpreted by the enemy who seeks to sow discord with its neighbors,” Iranian state television reported. His statements were interpreted by some media outlets as a decision by Tehran to suspend attacks on Gulf countries. However, the attacks reportedly did not stop overnight.
“It has been repeatedly said that we are brothers and should have good relations with our neighbors. However, we are obliged to respond to attacks, but this does not mean that we have a dispute with a neighboring country or that we want to upset their people,” Pezeshkian said. A day earlier, the Iranian president apologized for attacks on Gulf states and several Middle Eastern countries. He announced that the country’s interim governing council had approved a moratorium on attacks on neighboring countries, except in cases where Iran is directly attacked by them.
“I apologize to the neighboring countries,” Pezeshkian said, suggesting that some of the attacks on countries in the region may have been the result of communication problems between Iranian military structures. At the same time, he also responded to US President Donald Trump’s demand for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian regime. “This is a dream that they should take with them to the grave,” the Iranian president declared.
Meanwhile, analysts at several think tanks in the United States have warned that Tehran's missile attacks on various targets in the region could jeopardize Iran's relations with Gulf countries, which could change their stance and more actively support Israeli and US military operations against Iran.
