Tragedy in Italy, avalanche kills two Finnish tourists

An avalanche on Solda, in South Tyrol, Italy, has claimed the lives of two people, both Finnish tourists.

The incident occurred in the Madriccio refuge area, near the ski slopes, and involved a group of climbers. According to ANSAS, it was initially estimated that three people were involved, with two of them being recovered dead, while the third was rescued.

In this area of ​​the Ortler, the avalanche danger level has been declared three out of five, which is considerable, after the snowfall of recent days.

Some slopes can have even higher risk, reaching level four (severe) under certain conditions.

Efforts to rescue and verify the presence of other possible people continue, while authorities urge all visitors and climbers to be cautious of the risk of avalanches during this period.
