Colombian authorities have arrested a Dutch citizen, considered a key figure in an international drug trafficking network.

According to foreign media, Glenn Sherman de Freitas, suspected of being the coordinator of the transport of large quantities of cocaine to Europe, through connections with criminal organizations in Colombia, Spain, the Netherlands and Albania, has been arrested.

Investigators suspect he played a significant role in organizing methods to hide drugs and smuggle them to European countries. Authorities also allege he used El Dorado Airport to transport cocaine shipments.

The wanted fugitive was arrested in a neighborhood of the capital Bogota. During a search of his apartment, police seized 10 kilograms of cocaine, a revolver, ammunition, and 456 million Colombian pesos, estimated at around 106,000 euros.

An extradition request has also been filed against him in the Netherlands, however this has not yet been officially confirmed by the Dutch Public Prosecution Service.

Investigations into the criminal network's activity continue, as authorities are verifying its links to drug trafficking groups in several European countries.
