Even after being fired, "gold" is paid, Benitez benefits millions after the failed adventure in Greece

Rafael Benítez will no longer be in charge of Panathinaikos, as the parties have decided to end their cooperation just seven months after the Spanish coach's adventure in Greece began.
The departure was reached by agreement between the club and the coach, while the decision seems to be related to the management's plans to start next season with a new technical project.
Benitez was appointed to the Athenian team's bench on October 21 and signed a long-term contract of two and a half years. However, his experience at Panathinaikos proved to be shorter than expected.
Despite the limited duration of the stay, the Spanish coach is expected to receive a significant financial sum for the early termination of the contract.
According to reports from sports media, the compensation he will receive is worth over 5 million euros.
During his time in charge, Benitez led Panathinaikos in a total of 41 official matches. His balance includes 20 wins, 11 draws and 10 losses, statistics that did not fully convince the management and fans of the Greek club.
In the Greek championship, the team finished the season in fourth place in the Stoiximan Super League, falling far short of the championship title.
Meanwhile, in the European arena, Panathinaikos reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League, while in the Greek Cup they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by PAOK.
Following Benitez's departure, Greek media report that one of the main candidates to take over the team is Danish coach Jakub Nystrup, who could be the new name on the "green" bench for next season.
