Polls close in most of the country, Sali Berisha abandoned by Democrats
Voting has largely closed for Berisha's referendum, where it is learned that the number of voters was lower than the claims of the Democratic MPs to receive the support of the citizens.
Media sources indicate that in Gjirokastra: 270 citizens voted for Berisha, 11 against, 5 abstentions, 5 invalid.
Meanwhile, in Saranda, it is learned that Berisha secured 181 votes in his favor, out of a total of 229 voters. While it is said that 40 voters came out against Berisha, 3 votes were abstentions and 5 were invalid.
The participation in the DP vote in Pogradec is reported to have been at average levels as a total of 324 voters are reported to have participated. It is also reported that in Kolonjë there were 217 participants, while in Maliq 735, marking the highest number of voters in the southeast of the country.
Media sources indicate that in Dropull, voting was concluded with 57 participants out of 150 members in total, who are said to have all voted in favor of Berisha.
Meanwhile, in the city of Këlcyra, voting is reported to have closed with 232 voters, of whom 205 were in favor, 16 against, 10 abstentions and 1 invalid vote.
The vote count has also closed in Libohova, where it is learned that there were a total of 188 participants, of which 160 voted in favor of Berisha, 12 against, and 16 are said to have abstained.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the voting process has also closed in several districts in the north of the country, such as Bulqizë, Klos and Mat, where it is reported that the counting of votes is continuing.
Meanwhile, it is reported that in Gramsh, Berisha secured 215 votes in favor, while 22 people came out against the democrat's candidacy.
It is further reported that voting has also closed in some of the regions in the southern part of the country, more specifically: Fier, Vlorë, Selenica and Himarë, where it is reported that vote counting is continuing.
