The official voting schedule for the elections for the chairman of the Democratic Party has ended.
The process began at 8:00 a.m., with the opening of 87 centers in all DP branches in the country, and closed at 7:00 p.m., after being postponed from the previously announced 6:00 p.m.
Only the historic leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha, is in the race, and he has described the May 23 process as a "referendum" on the party's leadership.
Unlike previous intra-party electoral processes, this time the votes will be counted at the centers where voting took place and not at the DP headquarters.
During the pre-election period, the DP Election Commission excluded candidates who sought to run against Berisha, leaving only
his name on the ballot.
