Israeli military warns: We will pursue any successor to Khamenei

Israel's armed forces have issued a warning to Iran, saying they will continue to pursue any successor to the late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a post on the social platform X, the Persian-language account of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) wrote that  "Iran's Assembly of Experts, which has not convened for decades, will soon convene in the city of Qom."

"The State of Israel's force will continue to pursue every successor and every person who attempts to appoint a successor,"  the post said.

The IDF also warned:  "We warn all those who intend to participate in the meeting to choose the successor that we will not hesitate to strike them as well. This is a warning."
