Mass grave in Gaza, bodies of 8 doctors and several aid workers found

The bodies of several aid workers have been found in southern Gaza in what the United Nations describes as a "mass grave", covered in sand.
The workers went missing last week amid an Israeli attack on the enclave. Eight of the 14 bodies discovered in Rafah were identified as members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), five as members of the civil defense and one as a UN employee.
A 15th body was later found. The PRCS says that in addition to the 8 doctors killed, a 9th is still missing. Five ambulances and a fire engine sent to the al-Hashashin area on March 23, along with a United Nations vehicle to assist the wounded, were hit as Israeli forces advanced towards Rafah.
A UN official spoke of a veritable massacre, saying the scene at the scene was one of “total destruction.” The Israeli military claims its forces opened fire on several vehicles that were “advancing suspiciously” without lights or emergency signals, and insists that among the victims are a Hamas operative and “eight other terrorists.”
The International Federation of the Red Cross said in a statement that the eight bodies of the PRCS doctors were taken "after seven days of silence and following a denial of access to the Rafah area where they were last seen."
“This massacre of our team is a tragedy not only for us at the Palestine Red Crescent, but also for humanitarian work and humanity,” said the PCRS, which described the targeting of doctors as “a war crime” punishable under international law.
