Zelensky: Next round of peace talks again in Switzerland

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects negotiations with Russia to end the war to continue in Switzerland.

"Because the war is escalating in Europe, talks should also take place there," Zelensky said in an interview published today.

"I want to underline that the next meeting will also take place in Switzerland," he added after talks in Geneva held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Russia has not yet confirmed the location or date of the meeting.

Zelensky had criticized the results of the talks in Geneva, mediated by the United States, as insufficient and demanded that they continue this month.

Zelensky also stressed that Ukraine values the UAE as a partner.

The talks initially took place in Abu Dhabi in January and early February.

However, in interview statements published on his Telegram channel, he made it clear that he wants the Europeans to be part of the next round of talks.

Russia sees the Europeans as parties to the war and is therefore against their participation in the negotiations.

Zelensky, however, stressed that it is necessary to also involve European representatives.

Zelensky reiterated that, although he does not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin, he wants to meet with him to bring about a quick end to the war.
