Former British Prince Andrew released after 12 hours. He was arrested on charges

Former Prince Andrew has been released by British police after 12 hours in custody following his arrest this morning at Sandringham, British media report.

The brother of King Charles III is reportedly under investigation on suspicion of sharing classified information with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein in his former capacity as a trade envoy for the British government.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of King Charles III, who spent a decade as the UK's trade envoy, was pictured leaving a police station today after his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

King Charles III said he learned of the arrest “with the deepest concern” and stressed that “the law must take its course.” Andrew is the first senior member of the British royal family to be arrested in nearly 400 years.

Police previously said they were looking into allegations that Andrew shared sensitive information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while serving as an envoy.

The former prince has denied all allegations against him and insisted he was never a witness or suspect in any of the conduct Epstein is accused of. He has not commented publicly on these latest allegations of misconduct in public office.
