FIFA President announces partnership with Peace Board

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, today announced a new partnership between the organization and the Board, which has pledged to build football pitches and arenas in Gaza, as part of the Peace Board's initiative to rebuild the region.
"We don't just have to rebuild our homes, our schools, our hospitals, our roads, but we also have to rebuild and build emotions, hope and trust. And that's what football is for," Infantino said.
In a video that aired after his speech, it was said that FIFA was committing $2.5 million to the effort.
"These investments will create a complete football ecosystem designed to support communities and future generations," the video says.
Infantino and Trump have shared a close relationship since US President Donald Trump took office for his second term.
In December, Infantino presented Trump with a FIFA "peace prize" in Washington.
The organization's main international tournament – the World Cup – will be played in the US this year.
