14th day of protests/ Head of the University Union: Teachers stand by students every day!

The head of the University Union, Aleksandër Kovaçi, has confirmed the support of lecturers for the student protests, which have entered their 14th consecutive day today.

Speaking to News24 from the protest in front of the Ministry of Education, Kovaçi stated that the boycott of classes is voluntary, while emphasizing that student participation in the auditorium is insufficient for the normal development of the learning process.

"The boycott is voluntary and I don't believe there are enough students in the classrooms to conduct classes," he said.

Kovaçi emphasized that students have entered a new phase of organization, setting up forums to further coordinate their movement.

"Students are now in another phase of organizing in forums. We are supporting them to help figure out how to overcome this situation," declared the head of the University Union.

He explained that the lecturers had decided not to hold their scheduled meeting at 10:00 AM, so as not to divert attention from the student protest.

"We did not hold our meeting at 10:00 so as not to distract the students," said Kovaçi.

In conclusion, he confirmed that the lecturers will continue to be present every day at the protest, following the organization and calls of the students.

"We will be here every day at 2:00 PM, according to what the students have called for. We are where the students will be," concluded Kovaçi.
