Democrats boycott parliamentary committees: We cannot act as if nothing happened

The Assembly attempted to return to normality with several committee meetings this Monday, but the Democrats abandoned the proceedings.

In some of the committees, a symbolic presence of democratic deputies conveyed the message on behalf of the opposition:

" We cannot sit in committees as if nothing has happened. Therefore, I request the summoning of the Minister of Interior and the Police Commissioner to a hearing, so that it can be understood why they chose the whip ."

The majority also maintained the same approach, respecting the protest on the one hand, but at the same time against violence.

"We have our responsibility to reflect, we should have done it faster and better. We are not your problem. If for us the protest is a matter of reflection; for you it is a matter of existence ," said Xhafaj.

Similar positions were held by the Democrats in other committees, after which the minority MPs left the respective committees.
