From January, 144 thousand public administration employees will benefit from a salary increase
The 2026 budget begins the implementation of financial measures aimed at increasing income and improving purchasing power for employees in the public and private sectors.
The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, announced today that the minimum wage nationwide will be increased to 500 euros, a measure that is expected to benefit around 308 thousand employees in the public and private sectors who are currently paid below this level.
"Likewise, starting in January, the salary increase for around 144 thousand public administration employees will begin," Malaj declared.
The salary increase will include, in addition to public administration, important sectors for services to citizens, such as education, health, and law enforcement structures, including blue uniforms.
