Doctor Ermal Pasha has made a strong denunciation regarding the moments after the serious injury of 28-year-old Erjon Vishkulli, who was hit in the eye by a rubber bullet during the October 24 protest in Tirana and is at risk of losing his sight. In an interview with News24, Pasha stated that he had attempted to provide first aid to the young man, but was prevented from approaching, despite having introduced himself as a doctor. He also raised questions about the way the injured man was transported, claiming that Vishkulli was initially put in a police ambulance, but was then taken out of it.

"There was a moment when I saw a person on the other side of Lana, who was lying and several people had gathered around him. I thought it was a moment of asphyxiation from the gas. When I saw that the situation was getting worse, I tried to run towards him, but they didn't let me. I was alone. I took off my mask, glasses and introduced myself so that they could recognize me. I wanted to help him, but I was stopped," he stated.

The doctor then raised a question for the authorities, seeking clarification on why the injured man, according to him, was taken out of the vehicle where he was initially placed.

"How is it possible that he got into the police ambulance and then got off? Who gave the order? He took an ambulance that was parked next to the police, an SUV transformed into an ambulance, one of those that also carried tear gas," the doctor said.
