The people you see in the photo are Kleo Vrioni and Sara Brugentelli, the couple who lost their lives in the tragic accident that occurred overnight in Manzë, Durrës.
The 25-year-old Albanian and his Italian wife had been married just a few days earlier and were in Albania on vacation. At the time of the accident, the couple were accompanied by Alvi Muhaxhiri, 15, Rejsi Vrijoni, 25, and Klevis Dervishi, 16. Muhaxërroi died at the scene, while the latter two were injured. The 16-year-old has been transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, as his condition is serious.
The accident occurred at around 02:22, on a secondary road in Manzë. The BMW vehicle is suspected to have lost control and crashed into a concrete curb, ending up in a ditch next to the road. The collision was fatal for three of the people in the car. Emergency services and firefighters intervened to extract the people from the vehicle. The investigation team is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident and determine the cause that led to the loss of control of the vehicle.
