Juventus declares emergency due to injuries, after Yildiz, captain Locatelli will also undergo surgery

Juventus are in an injury crisis, losing captain Manuel Locatelli. The Italian midfielder suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee after the match against Milan and will undergo surgery in Lyon. Locatelli is expected to be out for at least three months and is not expected to return until early 2027.
The black and white captain thus joins a long list of injured players. Khephren Thuram has practically closed the year 2026 and is expected to return in January, while Kenan Yildiz, after surgery on his left foot, is expected to be available again at the end of November. Jeremie Boga also remains in doubt, while Jeff Ekhator will be absent for about 40 to 50 days. Juan Cabal, on the other hand, aims to return in the second half of October.
However, ahead of the transfer to Sassuolo on September 13, Juventus are hoping to recover Andrea Cambiaso, Weston McKennie and Pape Matar Sarr. The three players could gradually return to the group, with Sarr aiming for at least a place on the bench.
