A day after the clash in Vuno between journalist and activist Arian Konomi and members of Prime Minister Edi Rama's escort, the head of government has published another video from the moment of the incident, claiming that the new footage shows a different dynamic of the event.
In a Facebook post, Rama writes that "fortunately there is another video," while stating that the footage shows "the complete opposite" of what, according to him, a violator of the freedom of others would have rushed to show the world.
According to Rama, the published video shows a different situation than the account given earlier by Konomi. The Prime Minister claims that the new footage shows that the event had a different development and that what was conveyed on social networks does not match what is seen in the video.
Rama accompanies the post with an ironic comment, writing.
" Fortunately, this time there is a video exposing the lie, just imagine how many other times lies wreak havoc on the truth in the mirrors where we remember being informed."
The Prime Minister accompanies the text with several emojis, while placing the publication in the context of the debate over the way the event has been covered following the clash in Vuno.
The incident occurred yesterday, August 20, and was accompanied by numerous reactions on social media. At the center of the debate was Konomi's clash with members of the prime minister's security, while the journalist was later escorted to the police station.
The video released today by Edi Rama brings another part of the moment of the debate and, according to the prime minister, serves to refute the version of the event made public earlier.
The new publication is expected to reignite the debate over what specifically happened in Vuno and the parties' different versions of the incident.
