19th Century Newton - James Clerk Maxwell (1821-1865)

The one you see on the right of the photo is James Clerk Maxwell, while the one on the left is his work. No one before him had imagined that such phenomena as electricity, Magnetism and Optics (light) would be related to each other. No one could have imagined that these 4 differential equations would contain within them wonderful practical applications such as Radio, Television, Mobile and Internet and the "electromagnetic waves" that are at the core of their operation.
What Newton did 2 centuries ago - the unification of Mechanical phenomena, with the 4 famous equations that bear his name, Maxwell did with the Electro-Magnetic phenomena, with the equations that bear his name. Apparently there is a universal law: - there comes a time when the accumulation of several years of human experience feels the need to classify, model and synthesize in a package of simple and elegant equations, which, in turn, provide solutions and make predictions theoretical and practical for several generations after them.
Unfortunately he lived only 48 years! Maybe Nature calls her to her bosom before others for her needs for us still mysterious.
