Croatian PM harshly criticizes Serbia for honoring Mladic: Insult to victims

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic criticized the ceremony held in Belgrade for Ratko Mladic at the UN, calling it an insult to the victims and the verdicts of international courts.
Plenkovic said that reconciliation in the region requires accepting responsibility for past crimes and refusing to glorify them.
" I think the military and official honors given to Mladic in Serbia were an insult to his victims and to the verdicts of international courts ," he declared.
The Croatian prime minister described Mladic as a war criminal convicted of the genocide in Srebrenica and said his criminal activity had also extended to Croatia.
Plenkovic also stressed that Croatia supports EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, but underlined that European integration requires confronting the past.
